About Lab Notes

Lab Notes
I created this blog for the Digital Media Storytelling Project as an example of a digital identity strongly influenced the own fan culture.
This blog is a TV drama fan diary of sorts, or a guide through the three seasons of the show.  Each entry is dedicated to one particular episode; it discusses a selected detail (for example: the title, music, a character, a scene, narrative theme, etc.) and draws on digital media sources such as social networks, graphic novel games, podcasts and videos available on the web (links provided). The blog should ideally tell a story about the influence of digital media on my personal viewing experience which I share through this digital identity (see  "About Apology Girl" at the bottom of the page).
I think the chronological order of entries-episodes could work as a support story line, too, even though it's an incomplete list. As much as I have followed the show religiously :), have seen all seasons and all episodes numerous times and find them all equally inspirational, I am deliberately inconsistent in writing the entries, as I'd be inconsistent in writing a personal journal. Some days you just don't feel like writing about right away, but mention them in later entries. It could be the same with the show.  (Plus I need to keep up with the time limit on this project).
Also, when I started writing the first entries, I naively expected instant attention or even comments and feedback from random readers, and hoped it would inspire a much more interactive and progressive dynamic of the blog. Lots of discussions, polls, a merger with another blog, even.... Meh, I guess learning how to attract readers and keep them engaged will be the next project on my list.
        Thanks for stopping by,
        Apology Girl.

About Apology Girl

Apology Girl is mad about Breaking Bad. She's mad about the plot, the cast, the aesthetics, the locations, the music, the western-movie feel, the creators' attention to detail and the amount of space this show leaves for fans to interpret, elaborate and contribute. She loves to analyze the form, content and context of the show and likes to listen to podcasts and watch videos that relate to the making of the show. She is also a member of various social networks and is fascinated by the fan culture's power to create so many different meanings and interpretations of one good TVshow.
